Freight Class by Weight and Dimensions
Use these worked examples to check realistic pallet dimensions and weights against the post-July-2025 density bands. Each page shows the density calculation, nearby boundaries, measurement sensitivity, and the four-factor NMFC caveat. For different inputs, use the freight class calculator.

Use the examples responsibly
Density is only one NMFC classification characteristic. Stowability, handling, and liability can override a density-based estimate for a commodity. Confirm the current NMFTA item and applicable carrier tariff before tendering freight.
